About The Position

Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is a leading North American provider of midstream energy services. The Pipeline Technician maintains and operates Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) oil pipelines, pump stations, and all associated equipment. This role involves performing mechanical functions such as inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing equipment to ensure safe and productive performance. The I&E/Pipeline Technician also maintains, operates, and troubleshoots terminal and pipeline assets including PLCs, HMIs, motor controls, industrial processes, and various voltage levels.

Requirements

Ability to read at a level to understand written safety procedures, work procedures, blueprints, P&IDs, work permits, and technical instruction manuals.
Understanding of the National Electrical Code.
Thorough knowledge of electrical codes.
Familiarity with AC voltage (120v thru 4800v) three phase and single phase plus 24 & 48 VDC.
Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
Strong working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs, hardware, and software platforms.
Strong working knowledge of HMIs and SCADA systems.
Capability to maintain, repair, and calibrate sampling equipment along with electronic, pneumatic, and instrumentation systems for industrial processes.
Experience with troubleshooting of equipment.
A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
A minimum of 5+ years of electrical and instrumentation experience.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the operation and maintenance of a hazardous liquid or gas pipeline facility, or a similar facility/system.
Ability to learn pipeline locating and oversee excavations and line crossings.
Ability to interact with landowners.
Strong mechanical aptitude and dexterity in the use of tools and equipment.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions.
Ability to work without direct supervision, take a leadership role and prioritize and respond to multiple tasks.
Ability to work with a team and work alone.

Ability to take callouts and work overtime.

Nice To Haves

Qualified to work on single and 3 phase AC equipment up to 4160 volts is preferred.
Knowledge of the general design and operation of liquid pipeline is preferred.
Experience and knowledge of industry related maintenance and repair standards is preferred.
Knowledge of centrifugal pumps, regulators, MOVs, electronic controls and medium electrical voltage with an understanding of NGL or liquid pipelines is preferred.
Vo-Tech certificate or associate degree in Electrical/Electronics, Oil & Gas technical field or related work experience is preferred.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the operation, maintenance, and/or construction of a hazardous liquid or gas pipeline facility, or a similar facility/system is preferred.
Knowledge of turbine engines, centrifugal pumps, regulators, MOV's, electronic controls and medium electrical voltage with an understanding of NGL or gas pipelines is preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with less definition, policy, and bureaucracy.
May work in confined spaces (i.e., tanks, between compressors, vessels).

Responsibilities

Performing or assisting with routine maintenance of pumps, electric motors, and gas-driven turbine engines (e.g., bearing and seal replacements, alignments, couplings, fans).
Maintenance on other mechanical equipment such as block valves, control valves, air compressors, and valve actuators.
Assisting with the replacement of pumps, motors, valves, and other equipment.
Maintaining and operating custody transfer measurement facilities and performing product quality control tests.
Performing or assisting with routine maintenance and electrical troubleshooting of refined products pipeline and terminal equipment.
Participating in and completing training programs, process safety management reviews, and safety meetings.
Meeting the requirements of Company's Operator Qualification Reviews procedures.
Performing remedial and preventative maintenance, and maintaining facility appearance and safety through good housekeeping practices.
Performing preventative and general maintenance on electronic and pneumatic equipment.
Providing training and technical support.
Utilizing precision tools and test equipment.
Responding to operational emergencies as a member of an area emergency response team.
Performing regulatory required inspections.
Monitoring NGL oil receipt and delivery activities.
Locating pipelines, overseeing excavations, and line crossings.
Launching and receiving cleaning pigs and assisting with the launch and receiving of smart pigs.
Installing pipeline markers and performing routine inspections on ROW.
Maintaining and operating corrosion control equipment.
Attending and participating in damage prevention meetings.
Interfacing with various landowners.
Maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting terminal and pipeline assets including PLCs, HMIs, motor controls, industrial processes, and low, medium, and high voltage systems.
Performing preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems.
Troubleshooting equipment.
Working indoors and outdoors in and around industrial and electrical equipment.
Climbing and working at various heights.
Working in standing, sitting, lying down, crouched, or kneeling positions.
Regularly bending, stooping, moving from ground level to higher levels, raising/lifting from ground level, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Manually transporting a load up to 75 lbs.
Applying up to 100-foot lbs. of torque.
Wearing company-provided PPE, including a respirator.
Working in temperature extremes.
Using physical force to lift, push, pull, and hold equipment and tools.
Reacting to visual, audible, and other signals, including alarms and instructions.
Visually inspecting work.
Getting in and out of vehicles regularly and riding over rough roads.
Wearing special safety equipment and lifting/donning emergency breathing apparatus and/or protective equipment.
Taking callouts and working overtime.
Being available for Emergency Response.
Traveling domestically up to 10% of the time.
