ONEOK is seeking a Pipeline Operator for their Natural Gas Gathering & Processing division. This role involves performing intermediate-level work related to gas and/or liquids pipeline system operations and maintenance. Candidates should live near Kingfisher, Calumet, or El Reno, or be willing to relocate. Experience with pipeline operations and natural gas transmission is preferred. Requirements

  • Experience operating and maintaining pipeline systems and related equipment utilized in natural gas and liquids gathering and transmission systems.
  • Experience in various field functions including measurement, cathodic protection, and compressor/pump station operations.
  • Experience in maintenance and the repair of equipment.
  • Experience, training and/or knowledge of company and governmental operating/safety procedures and environmental regulations.
  • Experience, training and/or knowledge of characteristics of natural gas and gas liquids.
  • Experience with pigging pipelines, blowing drips, gauging tanks, and collecting liquids.
  • Experience with construction methods.
  • Experience in patrolling pipelines, performing leakage surveys, and locating/marking lines.
  • Experience in working with valves and dehydration equipment, scrubbers, and separators.
  • Experience in use and function of applications such as: Microsoft Excel, Project, Access, Word, etc.
  • Experience interacting, negotiating, advising and communicating effectively and in exchanging written and verbal information and instructions.
  • Knowledge of cathodic protection/corrosion control activities.
  • Ability to use tools and equipment including computers and related software.
  • Ability to establish, prioritize assignments and complete assignments in a timely manner with limited supervision.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify alternate solutions or approaches to a problem.
  • Ability to communicate thoughts, ideas, information, messages and other written information, which may contain technical material, in a logical, organized and coherent manner.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pipeline operations and maintenance activities on systems including compressor stations, gas storages, dehydration facilities, pumping facilities, measurement facilities, and related equipment.
  • Startup and shutdown operations.
  • Pigging, collecting liquids, changing charts, and gauging tanks.
  • Locating and marking lines, monitoring cathodic protection/basic pipe coatings, and performing leakage surveys/patrolling pipelines.
  • Blowing drips.
  • Perform and/or dispatch line locates and construction watch.
  • Monitor usage and/or replace lubricants, fluids, inhibitors, chemicals, etc., as needed.
  • Exchange information regarding pipeline operations, maintenance, measurement, and other activities with various stakeholders.
  • Provide calculations, compile, and/or prepare reports including gas/liquid flow and quality, maintenance/repair logs, samples, pipeline/corrosion activities, construction inspection, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive and ensure maintenance is completed on assigned company vehicles.
  • React immediately to emergency situations to prevent injury to self and others.
  • Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions, including operations, maintenance, or emergency response on a pipeline.
  • Be alert and respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions where impaired performance or failure to follow safety precautions could result in serious injury or property damage.
