About The Position

This role involves managing the safe operation of billing meter stations through calibrations, troubleshooting, inspections, and repairs. The technician will perform maintenance, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of instrumentation, electrical equipment, and pipeline control systems, including flow computers and programming. Compliance with Safe Work Permit processes, such as lockout/tagout, pre-job plans, and hot work permits, is essential. The position requires reading and interpreting electrical schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and one-line diagrams, while also performing mechanical tasks like valve operations, equipment installation, and pipe fitting. The technician will schedule and coordinate daily activities, support Damage Prevention Technicians, and maintain high standards of housekeeping. Travel to remote locations and working outdoors in varying weather conditions are part of the job, as is responding to callouts, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures related to instrumentation, control, and electrical systems, including pneumatic control systems and measurement equipment.
  • Basic troubleshooting and repair skills for instrumentation and electrical equipment.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at various organizational levels through strong verbal and written communication.
  • High School Diploma with trade school education in Electrical or Instrumentation, an Associate degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Five or more years of related field experience.
  • Valid State Driver’s License.
  • Ability to access multiple refinery locations.
