About The Position

The Pipeline Mechanic / Construction Mechanic performs a variety of tasks related to the construction, maintenance, repair, and rebuilding of pipeline systems and company mechanized diesel and gas equipment. Work is performed both in the company maintenance facility and in the field. The position operates under the general supervision of Regional Fleet Manager.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment, including light, medium, and heavy gasoline and diesel engines.
  • Skilled in welding, mechanical diagnostics, and equipment repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals and technical documentation.
  • Effective leadership, training, and communication skills.
  • Must be a journey-level mechanic with relevant experience in pipeline or construction maintenance.
  • Comply with Strike’s policies, procedures, and Drug & Alcohol Policy.
  • Perform all duties safely and effectively while promoting teamwork and productivity.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • ASE certification desirable
  • Class “A” CDL preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide safety leadership to lower-level mechanics on a project basis.
  • Train and instruct personnel on complex heavy equipment, automotive, and pipeline-related projects.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze malfunctions using technical and computerized testing equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation of vehicles, equipment, and pipeline systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on vehicles, heavy equipment, and pipeline construction equipment, including diesel and gas engines, transmissions, differentials, air and hydraulic systems, electrical and computerized control systems, fuel, cooling, heating, suspension, brakes, tires, and exhaust systems.
  • Conduct emergency field repairs as needed and perform welding, braising, soldering, and fabrication for equipment, plows, buckets, beds, rock liners, and other pipeline or construction equipment.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, components, accessories, and communication equipment.
  • Conduct inspections, maintain service schedules, complete work orders, and document maintenance activities.
  • Operate construction and heavy equipment to assist in pipeline installation, repair, or relocation of machinery.
  • Ensure safety compliance with industry standards, company policies, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other personnel to support pipeline construction, maintenance, and repair projects.
