Applies basic level engineering principles with direct supervision and assists engineers in feasibility studies. Performs field surveys for new and existing construction, produces CAD drawings for new/existing subdivisions, new/existing commercial and new/existing residential. This role involves applying basic engineering principles to deliver specifications, instructions, layout designs, and draw sketches for gas facilities. It also includes providing technical assistance to customers, architects, and contractors, maintaining knowledge of gas standards and policies, and conducting basic reviews of plans for gas mains and services with supervision. The position also entails conducting feasibility studies, estimating costs, designing layouts, and ensuring construction drawings meet permit requirements. Additionally, it involves requisitioning materials, meeting with government agencies and other utility companies, reviewing projects for potential conflicts with gas lines, inspecting and drawing as-built drawings, coordinating work with other departments, and utilizing Microsoft Excel for calculations and sizing meters and excess flow valves. Safe operation and maintenance of assigned vehicles and equipment are also key responsibilities.
