About The Position

This position involves learning standard operating procedures to monitor pipeline operations on a 24-hour basis from a centralized remote location. The goal is to ensure timely and accurate product delivery or receipts for customers and suppliers. The role requires developing skills to operate and monitor pipelines, storage facilities, remote pumping facilities, and supplier sites. It also includes learning the emergency response communications system for notifications to management and government agencies, as well as documenting oil movements and over/short situations. The Controller will communicate with customers to verify deliveries and timing, and collaborate with senior Controllers, Schedulers, and field personnel to gain knowledge for safe and efficient oil volume management. Participation in and promotion of the Company's safety program is also a key duty.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Reliable and committed to producing and maintaining current, accurate documentation of oil movement situations
  • Able to work effectively in a multi-task environment
  • Able to communicate effectively both orally and written
  • Able to work effectively in a fast paced, high stress environment
  • Able to work an alternating shift from days to nights

Nice To Haves

  • On the job training for 4-6 months (PHMSA trainings along with in house trainings to gain the knowledge to be a qualified operator)
  • Trainee will shadow a Controller 3 for 4-6 months depending on learning curve and testing abilities
  • Works under close supervision with clearly defined procedures
  • Has limited discretion to vary from established procedures
  • Work is prescribed with little autonomy

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate product delivery or receipts for customers and suppliers.
  • Operate and monitor product pipelines, storage facility operations, remote pumping facilities, and supplier sites.
  • Learn and utilize the emergency response communications system for notifications per regulations.
  • Document oil movements and all over & short situations.
  • Communicate with customers to verify oil deliveries and timing.
  • Collaborate with senior Controllers, Scheduler and field personnel to develop knowledge for safe and efficient delivery and/or receipt of oil volumes.
  • Participate in and promote the Company’s safety program.
