About The Position

WSC, a premier engineering, hydrogeology, construction management, and communications consulting firm focused exclusively on water, is seeking two limited-term Pipeline Construction Inspectors. This on-site position in Carpinteria is scheduled from late May through September 2026. The role involves ensuring water and wastewater construction projects comply with approved plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards, while maintaining detailed records and reporting on construction activities and deviations.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in construction, construction management, or inspection, with a focus on water and wastewater infrastructure.
  • Deep knowledge of water and wastewater infrastructure design, construction methods, equipment, materials, and applicable code requirements in one or more disciplines including civil, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interpret engineering plans and specifications.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to meet company and insurance provider requirements for driving eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site inspections of water and wastewater construction projects to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards.
  • Monitor and assess construction activities to ensure quality, safety, and permit requirements are met.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of construction activities, inspections, and any deviations from approved plans.
  • Prepare comprehensive daily inspection reports.
  • Provide regular updates to project managers, engineers, and other staff as required.
  • Ensure that construction projects adhere to all plans, specification, and permitting requirements.
  • Ensure project compliance with all SWPPP and MMRP requirements, as needed.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to address issues, resolve conflicts, and ensure smooth project execution.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to relay inspection results, project status, and potential risks.
  • Implement and enforce quality assurance measures to ensure that materials, workmanship, and construction processes meet contract requirements.
