About The Position

This position requires experience in PVC, HDPE, and ductile iron installation, with a strong emphasis on water, sewer, and storm drain pipeline projects. It is crucial to note that this is NOT an oil and gas line position. A main duty includes the installation of rural and fresh water distribution in an oil field. The role involves being a key player in pipe installation and excavations, handling and placing various components like pipes, valves, and manholes, and functioning as a spotter for heavy equipment operators. The job also requires setting up lasers and grade devices, understanding blueprints, grades, and elevations, and familiarity with mechanical joint installations. Responsibilities extend to using various tools for pipe installation and right-of-way clearing, operating dewatering pumps, cleaning and preparing pipes, and transporting parts and supplies. Ongoing cleanup and fencing skills are also essential.

Requirements

  • Very physical job, must be able to lift 0-125lbs from a variety of levels up to 6ft. vertically
  • Experience working outside in the elements and the ability to work overtime and nights if needed

Responsibilities

  • Key player on the pipe installation and excavations
  • Handling and placing pipe, valves, manholes, etc.
  • Function as a spotter for heavy equipment operators
  • Installing ductile iron, water, sewer, storm drain pipeline and associated structures
  • Installing rural and fresh water distribution in an oil field
  • Ongoing cleanup responsibilities
  • Fencing skills are a must
  • Sets up lasers and grade devices, understands blueprints, grades and elevations
  • Familiar with PVC, HDPE and Metal waterlines, sewers and storm piping.
  • Familiar with mechanical joint installation such as flanges, megalugs, mechanical couplers etc.
  • Uses a chainsaw, axe, or other tool to remove trees and brush from the pipeline right-of-way
  • Uses chopsaws, compactors, and other tools related to pipe installation
  • Familiar with OSHA trench safety regulations and various types of shoring systems
  • Familiar with rigging for pipe, manholes, shoring etc.
  • Operates pumps for dewatering
  • Cleans and prepares PVC or HDPE pipe for installation. Installing pipe joints
  • Transports parts and supplies to the jobsite from a storage site or the nearest town
  • Other duties as assigned
