About The Position

Looking for a Pipelayer with at least 2 years' experience, in underground ductile iron pipe and water services; Assists the foreman with leading a crew in the installation of underground piping. Helps coordinate daily work, read plans, operate equipment, and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently. Pay rate is $30 - $32/hr, DOE; Working 40 + hrs. a week with the potential of overtime. No per diem is being offered.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years' experience in underground ductile iron pipe and water services.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.).
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.
  • Move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas.
  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
  • Will climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
  • Will lift, push or pull objects up to 50Ibs. on an occasional basis.
  • Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • NCCER Core Curriculum and /or a High School diploma or equivalent is also preferred.
  • One year experience (level I), two years' experience (level II) and three plus years' experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry is preferred.
  • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Produce high quality work, safely and productively at all times.
  • Provide feedback to ensure all materials, tools, equipment and information is available for the work.
