About The Position
American Engineering is seeking an experienced pipelayer to join our team! This role involves the safe and accurate installation of various sizes and types of utility piping and structures in many different soil conditions and at various depths.

- Understanding of proper utility pipe installation.
Responsibilities
- Safely and accurately install various sizes and types of utility piping and structures in many different soil conditions and various depths.
- Communicate constantly with excavator operator to accurately dig and compact trench beneath pipe.
- Monitor accuracy of trench elevations continuously.
- Assist excavator in the search and verification of existing utilities.
- Set and chuck piping with proper slope.
- Ensure pipe is properly connected (home) with other pipes.
- Properly compact trench around pipe so pipes do not shift in the future.
- Properly and tightly fasten pipes with restraints as required.
- Ensure pipes are not leaking.
- Check installations routinely with laser and lamping.
- Ensure ground is at proper elevation and density for setting structures.
- Ensure structures are set at proper elevation location with the use of level and/or laser.
- Shoveling of dirt and rock for proper pipe bedding.
- Setting and checking of pipe laser.
- Mud work for structures.
