Requirements

• Construction knowledge and understanding of underground utility practices
• Excellent attitude, communication and teamwork skills, flexible, and open to change
• Ability to determine the correct tools and equipment needed to do a job
• An understanding of safe work practices
• The strength, stamina, and ability to use proper lifting techniques to lift and carry items weighing in excess of 50 pounds. Good muscular coordination, agility and balance
• A basic understanding of drawings
• Must be willing and able to travel to remote project locations

Nice To Haves

• Pipe fusing certificate an asset

Responsibilities

• Clean and perform preparation of job sites
• Align and position pipes to prepare them for pipe fusing
• Monitor backfill of pipe bedding to ensure proper haunch support
• Install water and sewer structures and pipe systems
• Prepare, cut, and install PVC pipe as required
• Coordinate all pipe, fittings, valves installation
• Basic equipment operation
• Handle and transport job materials to the work areas
• Operate hand and power tools
• Provide assistance to craft workers
• All other labour duties as required and assigned by supervisor
