About The Position

This role involves planning and executing pipefitting tasks, including installation, maintenance, and documentation. The pipefitter will be responsible for understanding blueprints, fabricating and installing piping systems, conducting tests, and ensuring a safe work environment. The position requires a strong knowledge of various piping components and systems, as well as the ability to work extended hours.

Requirements

• Knowledge of piping systems including layouts, print reading, flanges, manways, gaskets, steam traps and tubing.
• Relief valves and general valve maintenance.
• Oxy-Act torch experience, relief valves and general valve maintenance.
• General knowledge of pumps, compressors, agitators, bearings, and seals.
• Must be available to work over 8 hours/day and over 40 hours/week.
• Must be able to pass a written skills test.
• Must be able to pass respirator fit test.

Nice To Haves

• Special skill of pipe welding is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plans work by studying blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and construction; calculates, itemizes, orders, and gathers requirements; coordinates schedule with affected departments.
• Installs piping by measuring, cutting, bending, shaping, fabricating, threading, soldering, and gluing pipe using hand tools and equipment; insulates piping.
• Maintains piping by conducting operating tests, identifying, and repairing problems.
• Documents actions by completing records.
• Keeps tools and equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical professional publications.
• Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
