About The Position

The Pipefitter will be responsible for laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing and maintaining piping and piping systems, fixtures and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, and industrial processing systems.

Requirements

5+ years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
High school diploma or GED Certification (preferred)

Responsibilities

Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures
Select type and size of pipe and related materials according to job specifications
Inspect worksite to determine presence of obstructions and to determine that holes will not cause structural weakness
Plan sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other construction workers
Cut pipe using bandsaws, pipe cutters, Oxy Acetylene Torch
Thread pipe using threading machine
Assemble and install a variety of metal and nonmetal pipe and pipe fittings, including: brass, copper, carbon steel and stainless steel
Join pipe by means of welded, threaded, soldered, brazed, and pressed.
Use hand tools to secure pipe to structure with clamps, brackets and hangers
Install and maintain refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, including: Chillers, AHU’s RTU’s Cooling Towers, Pumps, pneumatic controls.
Test piping system for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks
May be required to travel to different jobsites on limited notice
Other duties as assigned by Foreman or Superintendent
When on-site, actively participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors.
Set a personal example of safe behavior.
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy and follow set procedures and standards
Other may duties may be assigned
Maintain in-depth relations with all members of their team and your supervisor.
