About The Position

This position installs commercial and industrial refrigeration systems according to customer specifications, applicable building codes, and proper piping practices. The role supports construction projects by piping cooler boxes and refrigeration cases, completing electrical wiring as required, installing pipe hangers, welding and slip-hosing copper pipes, and assisting the foreman. It also involves handling cooler box coils and installing new supermarket refrigeration systems or remodeling existing systems. Other duties and projects may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, equivalent work experience, and trade or technical school classes.
• EPA Certification (Type II).
• Experience in copper brazing and market remodeling.
• Good driving record.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and ability to wire installations.
• Knowledge of carpentry.
• Knowledge of refrigeration systems and piping refrigeration equipment.
• Knowledge of plumbing and pipe fittings, and ability to pipe refrigeration equipment.
• Knowledge of and ability to read blueprints for refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing.
• Ability to hang evaporation coils and install overhead hangers.
• Ability to use hand and power tools and good mechanical skills.
• Knowledge of job-site safety and ability to oversee work activities to ensure safe practices and compliance with safety rules.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

• Five or more years of construction industry experience and hands-on field experience in commercial refrigeration, electrical, and/or fixtures construction.

Responsibilities

• Install refrigeration systems according to customer specifications, applicable building codes, and proper piping practices.
• Pipe cooler boxes and refrigeration cases on construction jobs, including electrical wiring as required to complete projects.
• Install pipe hangers as directed by the foreman.
• Weld and slip-hose copper pipes and assist the foreman as needed.
• Handle cooler box coils and install new supermarket refrigeration systems or remodel existing systems.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
