Requirements
- Ability to utilize and operate a range of tools and equipment in installing, maintaining, and repairing pipe systems.
- Ability to handle, lift, and move heavy pipes, pipefitting materials and equipment.
- Ability to communicate with team.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Vocational training related to Pipe Fitting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with putting together, operating, managing, and repairing sophisticated piping systems that convey a wide range of liquids and oil products.
- Review and train to utilize blueprints to accurately install piping systems.
- Take direction from Pipefitter or other related supervisors.
- Assist Pipefitters in adjusting, connecting, and installing pipes, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
- Assist in the assembly and installation of piping systems such as ductile iron, PVC, steel, copper, stainless steel pipe, and black iron.
- Assist in the testing of piping systems to identify issues and take corrective measures.
- Use saws, drills, impact tools, cutting torches, and pipe threaders to cut, thread, and hammer pipes to desired specifications.
- Weld, solder or cement joints on pipes and pipe fittings to assemble and secure pipes.
- Attach pipes to fixtures, such as tanks by means of clamps, brackets, or welding equipment.
- Hoist loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables, and other rigging equipment.
- Work in a safe manner.
- Travel as required.
- Other duties which may be assigned as needed.
