About The Position

W.M. Schlosser Company, Inc. is seeking an experienced Pipefitter Foreman to lead pipefitting crews and perform hands-on work on active construction projects in the Southern Virginia/Richmond, Virginia area. This role supports the Superintendent by planning daily work, coordinating materials and equipment, monitoring productivity, and ensuring piping work is completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with project requirements. The Pipefitter Foreman works with project leadership, inspectors, vendors, subcontractors, other trades, and field employees to support safe, high-quality, and timely completion of mechanical and piping work.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of hands-on pipefitting experience, with journeyman-level knowledge and the ability to lead field crews.
  • Ability to read and apply mechanical drawings, pipe drawings, shop drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and submittals.
  • Knowledge of pipe layout, fabrication, installation sequencing, testing, troubleshooting, quality control, and construction safety requirements.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, documentation, and field decision-making skills.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to meet the physical requirements of active construction work.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis without the need for current or future employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Lead assigned pipefitting crews, provide daily direction, monitor progress, and support safe, productive work.
  • Perform hands-on pipefitting work, including measuring, cutting, threading, grooving, fitting, fabricating, installing, repairing, and maintaining piping systems and components.
  • Read and apply drawings, specifications, P&IDs, submittals, and related project documents to plan layout, materials, sequencing, and installation.
  • Lay out piping systems in the field, including offsets, elevations, slopes, supports, penetrations, and routing.
  • Coordinate with the Superintendent on schedule, manpower, materials, equipment, safety, and quality needs.
  • Support testing, troubleshooting, deficiency correction, inspection readiness, and required field documentation.
  • Promote and enforce company safety policies, OSHA standards, PPE requirements, and professional jobsite conduct.
