About The Position

Polk Mechanical is seeking a Pipefitting Foreman to lead three or more workers in pipefitting trades and labor work. The position combines hands-on pipefitting as part of the crew with supervisory duties, including assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience in the pipefitting trade.
• Thorough knowledge of piping blueprints, specifications, and codes.
• Thorough knowledge of plumbing and piping systems.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with employees and clients.
• Ability to supervise multiple employees and schedule projects to meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Relay instructions from supervisors and assign immediate tasks to individual members of the group.
• Work alongside other workers and set the pace.
• Demonstrate proper work methods and ensure required plans, blueprints, materials, and tools are available.
• Obtain needed information or decisions from supervisors about problems that arise during the work.
• Check work in progress and upon completion for adherence to sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines.
• Ensure safety and housekeeping rules are followed.
• Report work status, progress, and causes of delays to superintendents and project managers.
