About The Position

Signature Labor Services is hiring an experienced Pipefitter Foreman in Maryville, TN! We are seeking qualified candidates from Maryville, Knoxville, Alcoa, Oak Ridge, Lenoir City, Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Loudon, Sweetwater, and surrounding areas within approximately a 1-hour commute. This role involves inspecting worksites, assigning tasks, supervising daily activities, and assisting with layout, fabrication, and assembly problems. The position also requires ordering supplies, reporting incidents, monitoring employee performance, and conducting on-the-job training. The use of various hand tools, power tools, torches, welders, forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts is expected. Additionally, skills in other crafts may be necessary to meet customer needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Five + years of hands-on foreman experience.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly required to stand.
  • Frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • All employees must have proper PPE hard hat, work boots, safety vest, safety glasses and work gloves.
  • All SLS employees are required to comply with our Substance Abuse Prevention Policy as a condition of employment.
  • SLS may condition offers of employment upon taking and passing of a post-offer/pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects the work site to determine methods of repair; supplies and tools needed to successfully complete the work.
  • Assigns employees to specific tasks and supervises these daily activities, assisting in layout, fabrication and assembly problems as required.
  • Provides for the transportation of tools, equipment and materials to the job site.
  • Orders necessary supplies and materials required for the installation of new work and the remodeling of existing systems.
  • Reports accidents, near misses, and injuries to office supervision and actively cooperates with investigations.
  • Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance.
  • Conduct on the job training or arrange for worker training in safety or equipment use.
  • Uses various hand tools, power tools, torches, and welders.
  • Operates Forklifts, Scissor Lifts, and Boom Lifts.
  • Compile operational and personnel data, such as time worked, jobs worked, inventory data, equipment used, repair and maintenance information.
  • Reports to office supervision concerns with employees’ work-related issues and provides mentoring to employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.
  • Oversees the daily work assignments of a crew of one to 12 employees.
  • Reports out to office supervision the performance of the crew in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints/resolving problems and/or reporting those to office supervision for assistance.
