About The Position

BEMAC is seeking qualified Pipefitter Foreman/Foreperson to join their on-site Construction team for a 2 to 3 month project near Fort MacKay, Alberta. This position involves construction on the Imperial Oil (IOL) Kearl Lake Sodium Citrate Injection Process System. The role requires providing leadership and supervision to pipefitting crews, planning and coordinating daily work activities, and ensuring the proper installation of piping systems. The shift is a 21 days on, 7 days off rotation with 10-hour days. While local candidates are preferred, fly-in, fly-out from Edmonton or Calgary, Alberta may be available.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Pipefitter certification required
  • Previous foreman or supervisory experience leading pipefitting crews
  • Strong technical knowledge and proven experience in pipefitting and piping system installation
  • Experience in an industrial or oil & gas environment required
  • Knowledge and experience in industrial construction and operations
  • Strong leadership, planning, and team coordination skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of a project organization
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and isometrics
  • Required Tickets: First Aid (Intermediate), Confined Space Entry, Aerial Work Platform (AWP), and Fall Arrest Certification
  • Successful clearance of applicable pre-employment checks is required which may include Criminal Background/Police Information check, Drug & Alcohol test, Reference checks as well as submittal of Provincial Driver’s Abstract.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with applicable legislation, policies, and procedures
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and direction to pipefitting crews on site
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily work activities to meet project schedules and quality requirements
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine layout and execution requirements
  • Ensure proper installation of piping systems including: Measuring, cutting, threading, and bending pipe; Welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, and joining piping systems
  • Oversee installation of supports, valves, piping, and control systems
  • Ensure crews perform system testing, flushing, and leak checks
  • Troubleshoot field issues and coordinate resolutions with engineering and other trades
  • Monitor workmanship and productivity, ensuring adherence to project standards
  • Coordinate with other disciplines (welding, electrical, instrumentation, etc.) to ensure smooth execution
  • Support commissioning and system turnover activities
  • Assist with material tracking and may support basic cost estimating
  • Maintain clear communication with project management and provide progress updates
