This position is a Skilled Craft role. The role directly reports to the Superintendent and routinely interacts with Tank crews and Supervisors.

Requirements

Ability to read a standard measuring tape
Access elevated work platforms and scaffolds through the use of ladders, stairways, or other designated access ways.
Climb structures utilizing appropriate fall protection and available handholds and footholds.
Work with precise limits or standards of accuracy.
Compare and see differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures, and objects.
Understand verbal instructions and written posted notices.
Comply with all written and verbally communicated safety rules and procedures.
Perform general labor on construction sites.
Work in confined spaces where respirators and fresh air equipment are utilized.
Maintain and use personal protective equipment.
Practice good housekeeping to maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area.
Perform a variety of duties, which may often change.
Able to understand verbal instructions and written posted notices.
Capable of learning to read and understand basic drawings.
Able to visually inspect personal work activities.
Able to pass required safety exams

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of tasks involving dexterous use of hands and tools, such as: Air power ; Cutting torch operator; Drill operator; Pipelayers; Water pump operator; and all pipe cleaning and wrapping.
Work usually requires the ability to work without close supervision.
May perform a variety of functions, such as: Assisting skilled craft workers in performing their duties
Positions, joins, aligns, and fits steel plate and structural sections
Grinds, polishes, cleans surfaces such as steel plate, using abrasive tools or machines
Sprays materials such as water, sand, steam, etc. through hose to clean, coat, or seal surfaces, Assisting with scaffold erection.
Able to follow specific directions
Perform a variety of duties which may often change
Rate information using standards which can be measured or checked
Compare and see differences in size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects
Repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure
Performs other duties as required.
