About The Position

This is an apprenticeship program designed to train individuals in the skills of a pipefitter. Over four years, apprentices will learn to lay out, fabricate, assemble, and install piping systems, read isometric drawings and construction plans, inspect and test systems, and adhere to industry codes. The role involves assisting journeymen, using tools, and maintaining a good attendance record and compliance with program requirements. Safety is paramount, and apprentices will be expected to follow all safety rules and regulations. The position may require extended hours, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

Must successfully pass a background check and drug/alcohol testing
High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

One year of construction experience is preferred
OSHA 10 desired
Favorable driver’s record/valid license desired
Knowledge and acceptance of good health and safety principles and practices are desired

Responsibilities

Assist journeyman pipefitters or peers with the demolition, de-installation, rigging, fitting, and/or installation of equipment, supports, and pipe
Proactively receive mentoring from a journeyman pipefitter or Supervisors
Use hand and power tools with proper certification
Learn and apply knowledge of layout, fabrication, assembly, and installation of piping systems
Learn to read isometric drawings
Learn to read construction plans and shop drawings for pipe systems
Learn to inspect and test piping systems
Learn and apply knowledge of piping industry codes
Maintain a good attendance record and comply with apprenticeship program requirements
Maintain a record of on-the-job training and submit to apprenticeship program as required
Follow all safety rules and regulations
