About The Position

The Pipe Yard Associate is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing conduit orders in compliance with company standards of safety, security, and productivity. This role contributes to a culture and environment focused daily on employee safety and a safe work environment, assuming responsibility for immediately addressing safety concerns. The associate will efficiently pick customer conduit orders for shipment, ensuring the correct number and type of conduit is loaded and shipped, and assemble various types of conduit for shipment. They will carry or transport conduit orders to shipping locations or delivery platforms with materials handling equipment, and print, tag, and mark orders as required. Ensuring outbound conduit shipments are accurate and free of damage is crucial. The role involves releasing pipe transfers through the Warehouse Management Software (WMS) dashboard screens to process customer and branch orders. Additionally, the associate will assist in unloading freight, moving conduit to storage locations, and unpacking incoming shipments. Examining conduit for defects and sorting items according to the extent of the defect is also a responsibility. The role requires efficiently and accurately documenting packing slips, BOL, and PO’s for damaged and/or short/lost shipments, and maintaining a minimum standard for productivity and accuracy as determined by current company policies. Operating narrow-aisle stand-up rider lift trucks in performance of stocking duties, performing daily machine check lists, and operating any material handling equipment safely and efficiently are required. Proper use and understanding of all computer programs and hardware necessary for completion of the job tasks, and reporting any damage to electronic hardware or material handling equipment at the Distribution Center immediately to a Supervisor are also part of the role. Other duties as assigned may be part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of warehouse or distribution center experience
  • Certification to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment. Training will be provided by the company
  • Must be willing to be trained on all the following material handling equipment: Forklifts, stand-up reach truck, High-Reach Narrow-Aisle, Stand-Up Rider pallet Jack that conform to OSHA safety training requirements. Training will be provided by the company as needed
  • Ability to properly use and understand all computer programs and hardware necessary for completion of the job tasks
  • Ability to perform other receiving positions as required
  • Must be able to operate stand-up reach truck
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic math skills to work environment
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and understand RF scanning devices
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
