Spitzer, a recognized industry leader in designing and fabricating high-specification equipment, is currently seeking Pipe Welder to join our team. What Does a Week in the Life of the Pipe Welder Look Like? • Understand and follow safety policies and procedures of the shop. • Conforms to shop quality practices and procedures. • Interprets drawings and specifications to define sequence of spools fabrication. • Measure and mark pipes for cutting to specifications, using tools such as saws, cutting torches, and benders. • Uses MIG & Flux core welding processes to tack. • Tack Carbon steel components using welding procedures. • Fit-up ANSI flanges to pipe, forged flanges, elbows, reducers to pipe. • Checks fit ups using appropriate tools. • Completing jobs based on standard shop procedures. • Works productively with others to help determine best solutions. • Uses overhead cranes, jib cranes and other lifting/rigging devices to move components in a safe manner is a plus. • Practice good housekeeping skills and properly dispose of waste according to safety and environmental policies. • Safe practice of use of grinder to clean and prep fittings. • Other duties as assigned by the Foreman.
