About The Position

Plan, lay out, weld, install, test, and repair pipe and similar tubular products in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, welding codes, and industry standards. The role involves precise, independent pipe fitting and welding, coordinating with field labor, supporting prefabrication and installation, and ensuring work meets production, quality, safety, code, design, and specification requirements.

Requirements

• May require a high school diploma or equivalent, with prior years of experience in the field or a related area.
• Strong working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow, and convey written and oral instructions, and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
• Proficiency in the safe and efficient use of electrical tools, hand tools, power tools, layout tools, and measurement tools.
• Ability to meet all physical requirements.
• Must have all required tools.
• Ability to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces, which may exceed 200 feet.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by workload.

Responsibilities

• Plan, diagram, and lay out pipe-welding work.
• Coordinate with the field labor crew to support efficient installations.
• Position the welding setup, fit piping, and perform precise welds independently.
• Lay out and assemble pipes according to production standards, quality and safety requirements, codes, designs, and specifications.
• Repair welding defects and substandard welds.
• Assist with prefabrication layout or installation coordination.
• Assist with rigging materials.
• Operate air arc gougers, grinders, stress-relieving machines, and other industry tools and equipment.
• Estimate sizes, distances, quantities, time, costs, resources, or materials needed for work activities.
• Inspect subordinate employees’ work for compliance with contract plans and specifications, identify deficiencies, explain them, and take corrective action as needed.
• Observe and comply with safety and project rules and perform other duties as required.
