About The Position

Kiewit is hiring experienced TIG & RMD/FCAW B-Pressure Hand Welder Foremans for the Woodfibre project located in Squamish, BC. This is a full-time, project-based position. The role involves completing carbon steel & stainless steel (304L) closure welds for module interconnects, working in tight spaces/at heights, and completing carbon steel and stainless steel (304L) welds for new construction piping systems.

Requirements

• Valid Journeyperson Red Seal Welding ticket or an equivalent certification with the ability and willingness to apply for a recognized credential through a provincial trades qualifier program.
• Valid BC Class A Pressure Welder certification
• If you hold an equivalent certification/experience, you must be willing and able to obtain BC registration
• 5+ years’ experience with TIG (GTAW) welding stainless steel and carbon
• 5+ years’ experience with stick (SMAW) hand welding
• Must pass weld tests per company standards – Stainless TIG, Carbon TIG, Carbon Stick, RMD/FCAW
• Must have experience performing welding work in outdoor environments, varying weather conditions, and restricted spaces
• Must be able to pass a SureHire Drug, Alcohol, & 50lb Fitness-to-work test upon an offer

Nice To Haves

• RMD experience is an asset

• Base Wage: $54.00 for B-Pressure Tig Welders
• Additional site premiums available upon successful completion of 30 DI using RMD
• Additional site premiums available upon completion of 50 DI with no repair
• 6% vacation pay
