About The Position

The Pipe Stress Engineer will perform pipe stress analysis of piping systems in accordance with ASME B31.3 Code. This role involves modeling piping systems to verify flexibility, stability, and qualification of equipment nozzle loads. The engineer will collaborate with layout personnel and pipe support engineers to ensure quality and cost-effective designs, and coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as needed. The position requires applying standard plant design and piping engineering methods, using independent judgment for adaptations and modifications. Responsibilities also include participating in design reviews, recommending approval of drawings and data for compliance with requirements, analyzing conflicting design requirements and developing potential solutions, and evaluating the suitability of unconventional materials, techniques, or coordination requirements. The engineer will also coordinate plant design engineering activities with specialty groups, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 6 or more years of related experience.
  • Working knowledge of dynamic analysis and ASME B31.3 or B31.1 Codes.
  • Prior experience using the pipe stress analysis program, Bentley AutoPipe.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. Citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to, testing for marijuana use.

  • Previous DoD project experience.
  • EIT or PE Registration.
