About The Position

Archer Western Construction is seeking a Pipe Layer for the WEGA/Hard Labor Creek project in Social Circle, Georgia. The role involves physical pipe-laying work on commercial, industrial, or heavy civil construction jobsites, including laying, joining, aligning, wrapping, and sealing pipe. The Pipe Layer may operate hand and power tools, help prepare the site, and perform other assigned duties. The position involves working with crew members and following supervisors’ instructions. Requirements

Ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffolds or ladders.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, as may be required.
Ability to comply with safety policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
Strong work ethic and desire to learn.
Good manual dexterity and ability to stand, bend, kneel, or sit for long periods.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.

One year of verifiable experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Lay, join, align, wrap, and seal sections of clay, concrete, and other types of pipe for water and gas mains, sanitary sewers, and telephone and electrical conduits.
Work with crew members and operate hand and power tools, including drills and hammers, as directed by management.
Perform physical labor and other tasks as instructed by a supervisor.
Prepare the jobsite and assist with other duties as assigned.
