About The Position

Harbour Construction is seeking experienced Pipe Layers to join their civil construction team. This is a permanent, year-round position focused on building essential underground infrastructure such as utilities, watermain, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, roadwork, excavation, and site development projects across Nova Scotia. Pipe Layers are crucial for ensuring the safe, accurate, and specified installation of underground infrastructure. The role involves working collaboratively with experienced Foremen, Operators, Labourers, Survey crews, and Project Teams.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Pipe Layer in civil construction or underground utilities
Experience installing storm sewer, sanitary sewer, watermain, or related infrastructure
Ability to read grades, drawings, and site layouts
Strong understanding of safe trenching and excavation practices
Ability to work effectively as part of a crew
Reliable transportation to project sites

Responsibilities

Install storm, sanitary, and watermain infrastructure
Set and check pipe elevations, grades, and alignment
Prepare bedding and install pipe to specification
Assist with tie-ins, connections, and transitions
Read and interpret drawings, grades, and site layouts
Work safely in and around trenches, excavation activities, and heavy equipment
Collaborate with Operators, Labourers, Survey crews, and Foremen to keep projects moving efficiently
Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity
