About The Position

CK Contractors and Development LLC is hiring Pipe Layers to join their team. This position is responsible for assembling, connecting, and constructing pipe systems for storm drains, sanitary sewers, and water line systems. The role involves aligning pipes and sealing joints using cement, glue, or plastic welding. Job sites are located throughout Palm Beach County to Brevard County, and applicants should expect a commute of up to one hour, with the possibility of moving between job sites as project needs change. All conditional offers of employment are contingent upon passing a pre-employment screening, including a drug test.

Requirements

2 or more years of pipeline experience.
Ability to follow building plans or blueprints and instructions from supervisors.
Ability to lay out the job and work efficiently with the materials and tools of the trade.
Knowledge of construction and pipe fitting techniques.
Knowledge of sewer systems, storm drains and water mains.
Experience with machine-operated and hand trenching tools.
Excellent safety awareness, and a willingness to comply with company policies and safety standards.
Ability to work with others to achieve company results.
Ability to think critically to analyze information and make sound decisions.
Effective communication with other operators, truck drivers and general laborers is critical, both verbally and nonverbally; this includes the ability to listen to the ideas of others.
Reliable transportation to be at work when scheduled.
Ability to travel.
Periodic evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime hours are expected.
Ability to adapt and adjust to changing situations and priorities with a positive attitude.
Must wear proper attire at all times including safety vests, safety glasses when appropriate, long pants, hard sole/close-toed shoes, and reflect a clean and presentable image.
Continuous mental and visual attention is necessary to safely and effectively complete work tasks.

Responsibilities

Work in trench systems to install sanitary and storm water sewer structures and pipe systems.
Cut pipes to required lengths and assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction and position them for welding or sealing.
Check slopes for conformance to requirements using levels or lasers.
Connect pipe pieces and seal joints using welding equipment, cement, or glue.
Tap and drill holes into pipes to introduce auxiliary lines or devices.
Cover pipes with earth or other materials.
Grade and level trench bases, using tamping machines and hand tools.
Maintain familiarity with and understanding of utilities workflow of duties and team coordination with other trades.
Monitor operations to ensure that health and safety standards are met.
Responsible for pre and post checks of equipment, daily maintenance and keeping the equipment clean and ready for daily operation.
Keep records of material or equipment usage or problems encountered.
Perform and assist with other job positions for job completion as requested.
Maintain attendance at work, including presence at work during regular work hours or other schedules as may be assigned.
Acceptance of overtime assignments will also be required based on operational needs.
