About The Position

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Pipe Fuser to join our utility construction team in New Orleans, Louisiana. In this role, you will be responsible for fusing high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe used in underground utility installations such as water, sewer, gas, and telecommunications systems. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with pipe fusion techniques, understands construction site safety, and works effectively with field crews to ensure high-quality pipe connections and efficient project completion.

Requirements

• Experience performing HDPE pipe fusion or working in utility or construction environments.
• Knowledge of basic fusion methods such as butt fusion or electrofusion.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and company guidelines.
• Ability to read measurements and follow job specifications.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor when required.
• Strong attention to detail, safety, and teamwork.
• 3 years of experience performing HDPE pipe fusion or working in utility construction.

Nice To Haves

• Experience fusing HDPE pipe for water, sewer, gas, or telecommunications utility installations.
• Certification in HDPE pipe fusion or manufacturer-specific fusion training.
• Experience operating fusion machines and related equipment.
• Familiarity with job site setup, pipe handling, and alignment procedures.
• Experience operating support equipment such as mini excavators, skid steers, or pipe rollers.
• CDL (Commercial Driver’s License).

Responsibilities

• Perform HDPE pipe fusion using approved methods such as butt fusion or electrofusion.
• Set up and operate fusion equipment and related tools.
• Ensure proper pipe alignment, heating, and cooling during the fusion process.
• Inspect fused joints to ensure quality and compliance with specifications.
• Assist with pipe preparation, alignment, and staging on job sites.
• Maintain and clean fusion equipment and tools.
• Follow company safety procedures and applicable safety regulations.
• Communicate with supervisors and crew members to coordinate pipe installation.
• Assist with general job site duties as needed.
