About The Position

Birdon America, Inc. is seeking an Pipe Department Foreman to join our growing team at our Bayou La Batre, Alabama shipyard. This is a great opportunity for you to provide your knowledge and skills to a growing company in building a new Coast Guard vessel.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of pipefitting experience, with supervisory or foreman experience preferred.
Extensive knowledge of commercial and industrial piping systems.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and industry best practices.
Experience coordinating multiple crews and projects simultaneously.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Supervise and direct daily activities of pipefitters, welders, and pipe department personnel.
Plan, organize, and schedule manpower, equipment, and materials to meet project deadlines.
Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings, and contract documents.
Coordinate piping installations with project managers, general contractors, and other trades.
Ensure all piping systems are installed according to applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
Conduct routine inspections to verify workmanship and quality control standards.
Monitor productivity and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
Train, mentor, and evaluate pipe department personnel.
Order and track materials, tools, and equipment required for project completion.
Maintain job site safety and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
Troubleshoot installation issues and develop effective solutions in the field.
Participate in project meetings and provide progress updates to management.
Complete and submit daily reports, timekeeping records, and project documentation.
