About The Position

The Pipe Foreman II works in the Pipe department in Athens, Alabama, and reports to the Pipe Superintendent. The role involves operating heavy machinery to move and position pipe materials and equipment, assisting with team coordination and supervision, and monitoring job-site work for quality, compliance with plans and specifications, and safety. The position also supports a clean, organized work site, equipment inspections, and reporting of incidents or equipment issues. The foreman is expected to maintain professional relationships and represent Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience as a foreman.
Ability to communicate and convey information effectively.
Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift 75 pounds.
Knowledge of OSHA standards.
Ability to travel between job sites as required.
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) on all job sites.
Work weekends and overtime as needed.
Commitment to attending work each day.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Nice To Haves

Ability to obtain an Arsenal and FBI Badge (preferred, but not required).

Responsibilities

Operate track hoes, loaders, excavators, and other heavy machinery to move, transport, and position pipe materials and other equipment.
Assist in supervising and coordinating team members’ work to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to required standards.
Complete daily equipment inspections and report issues immediately.
Monitor on-site activities to ensure work follows plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
Monitor team members’ work quality to ensure it meets project specifications and standards.
Help maintain an organized and clean work site and address hazards or obstructions.
Document and report incidents or issues.
Maintain a high level of work quality.
Maintain good relationships with Technicians, Foremen, Superintendents, Inspectors, Developers, and other co-workers.
Follow safety rules and regulations while performing work tasks.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner.
