About The Position

Centrex Technical Sales is seeking a skilled Pipe Fitter to join their team. This role involves fabricating, assembling, and fitting high-purity stainless steel sanitary tubing and piping systems for custom process skids. The Pipe Fitter will be responsible for interpreting engineering drawings, preparing components for welding, and ensuring adherence to strict hygienic design standards. This position is crucial for delivering reliable systems that keep industrial operations running efficiently and safely.

Requirements

2+ years of dedicated experience in sanitary process piping.
Proven track record of fitting up complex valve manifolds and stainless steel process equipment.
Strong understanding of sanitary connections (Tri-Clamp, Bevel Seat), surface finish requirements, and passivation.
Skilled in using sanitary pipe cutters, facing tools, grinders, and measuring instruments.
Direct background building process skids or modular systems for the food, dairy, beverage, or pharmaceutical industries.
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in tight or elevated spaces.
Ability to lift and maneuver heavy pipe components (up to 50 lbs).
Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing shop environment.

Nice To Haves

Hands-on experience fitting up and aligning sanitary process tanks.

Responsibilities

Measure, cut, and fit up high-purity stainless steel sanitary tubing and piping systems for custom process skids.
Assemble and fit up complex valve manifolds and process skids according to engineering drawings.
Position, align, and fit up process vessels, reactors, and tanks into skid systems.
Read and interpret Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), isometric drawings, and layout schematics.
Ensure precise fit-ups and beveling for sanitary TIG/GTAW welding.
Maintain strict adherence to hygienic design standards (e.g., 3-A, FDA, ASME BPE) to ensure crevice-free, contamination-resistant joints.
