About The Position

Pipe Fitters are responsible for installing complex piping systems on ships and in shops. This involves working with extensive pipe networks, such as over 23 miles of pipe on a submarine and over 230 miles on a carrier. The role includes learning to read blueprints, fabricating, installing, inspecting, and testing various piping systems. New hires will attend a Fundamentals of Piping Fitting class and receive ongoing training throughout their careers to enhance their job knowledge.

Requirements

• Ability to work at extreme heights or in small confined spaces.
• Ability to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs.
• Must pass a respirator fit test.
• Ability to work indoors/outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work assigned shift as production needs.
• Must be able to pass Physical Agility Test.
• At least 1 year of previous Marine Pipe Fitter experience.

Nice To Haves

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
