About The Position

Audubon is currently seeking a Pipefitter I to join our team in our Off Site Office. The Pipefitter I performs skilled fabrication, assembly, installation, construction, and maintenance of piping through plan interpretation.

Requirements

Five years' experience in the construction industry.
Five years’ experience pipefitting.
Must be able to obtain site and Safety training certifications required for the project.
Construction safety practices.
In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and HSE guidelines.
Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to communicate and report effectively.
Aptitude in math and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.
Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently when required.
Ability to motivate, lead, teach and train on proper work and safety procedures.
Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve problems.
Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing.
Individuals must have a valid driver's license and driving record that meets Company requirements.

Nice To Haves

Related trade school education is preferred.

Responsibilities

Selects size and type of pipe and related material according to job specifications.
Inspects work sites to determine presence of obstructions and to ascertain that holes will not cause structural weakness.
Plans sequence of installation to avoid obstructions with pipe spools.
Cuts and threads; assembles and installs a variety of metal and nonmetal pipe fittings, including those made of brass, copper, lead, glass and plastic; joins pipe by means of threaded, caulk, solder, braze, fuse or cement joints; secures pipe to structure with clamps, brackets and hangers; installs and maintains refrigeration and air-conditioning systems including compressors, pumps, meters, pneumatic and hydraulic controls and piping; test piping system for leaks.
Will also bolt and torque flanges, to perform test and ensure the quality of the pipe and the piping systems.
Spend time on job and can be transferred to another job as project progresses.
Performing duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety.
Participating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities.
Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
Following safe work practices and complying with applicable regulatory requirements.
