About The Position

Pipe Fitters are responsible for installing complex piping systems on ships and in the shop. This involves reading blueprints, fabricating, installing, inspecting, and testing numerous piping systems. The role requires working at extreme heights and in small confined spaces, with extensive kneeling, squatting, crawling, bending, stooping, and climbing. Candidates must be able to lift 40 lbs, pass a respirator fit test, and work indoors/outdoors year-round in all weather conditions. They must also be able to work the assigned shift as production needs dictate and pass a Physical Agility Test. New hires will attend a Fundamentals of Piping Fitting class and receive ongoing training throughout their careers.

Requirements

• Able to work at extreme heights or small confined spaces.
• Able to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb.
• Able to lift 40 lbs.
• Must take and pass a respirator fit test.
• Able to work indoors/outdoors year round in all weather conditions.
• Able to work assigned shift as production needs.
• Able to pass Physical Agility Test.
• At least 1 year of previous Pipe Fitter experience.
