About The Position

Pipe Fitters are responsible for installing complex piping systems on ships and in shops. This involves working with extensive pipe networks, as over 23 miles of pipe are installed on a submarine and more than 230 miles on a carrier. As a pipe fitter, you will learn to read blueprints, fabricate, install, inspect, and test various piping systems. The role includes initial training through a Fundamentals of Piping Fitting class and ongoing training to enhance job knowledge.

Requirements

  • Ability to work at extreme heights or small confined spaces.
  • Ability to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Must pass a respirator fit test.
  • Ability to work indoors/outdoors year round in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work assigned shift as production needs.
  • Must be able to pass Physical Agility Test.
  • At least 1 year of previous Marine Pipe Fitter experience.

Nice To Haves

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
