Organizational Overview Our mission is to meet the nutritional and social needs of those we serve so that they can maintain safe and independent lifestyles. We envision a Rhode Island where those we serve live nourished lives with independence and dignity. Since 1969, Meals on Wheels of RI has worked to address the issues of food insecurity and social isolation as risk factors for negative health outcomes amongst homebound older adults. Through nutritional and other programming, the organization works to empower seniors across the state to live healthier, safer, and happier lives as they age with independence. The core values of our organization are Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Steadfastness. Our board of directors, team members and volunteer community embody these CARES values and apply them in every interaction with each other, those we serve, and with our community. Summary The Pilot Projects Assistant supports the work of Pilot Projects Coordinator. This includes but is not limited to supporting all aspects of the pilot projects (e.g. home-delivered meals to expanded populations). The primary responsibility of the Pilot Projects Assistant is completing intake services for referred clients of our Medicaid and Maternal Health programs and providing client support for those programs. This is a part-time, hourly position; Monday through Friday with core hours of 9:00 am – 2:00 pm/10:00 am – 3:00 pm.
