About The Position

Primoris Heavy Civil Division is seeking an experienced Pile Driving Manager to support our growing portfolio of roadway and bridge construction projects across Louisiana. This leader will oversee all pile driving operations—from planning and equipment coordination to field execution and safety compliance—ensuring our projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with uncompromising safety.

Requirements

  • 5–10+ years of experience in pile driving operations in, roadway and bridge construction.
  • Proven leadership experience managing field crews and complex operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, geotechnical reports, and engineering specifications.
  • Strong understanding of DOT standards (Louisiana DOTD preferred).
  • Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read crane charts, select cranes for the project, develop pile installation plans, select and adjust templates, experience driving batter and compound batter piles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, plan, and manage all pile driving activities for heavy civil roadway and bridge projects.
  • Develop and execute pile driving work plans including, crane selection, lift plants, template selection, and sequencing.
  • Coordinate with project team to ensure pile operations aligned with project schedules and specifications.
  • Oversee pile installation methods including concrete piles (16” to 36”), H-piles, timber piles, sheet piles, and temporary shoring systems.
  • Review geotechnical reports, pile driving criteria, and load test results to ensure proper installation and compliance, including the development of the pile installation plan for submittal to the owner.
  • Supervise pile driving crews, foremen, and operators; provide coaching, direction, and performance feedback.
  • Ensure proper setup, operation, and maintenance of pile driving equipment such as diesel hammers, hydraulic hammers, vibratory hammers, cranes, and leads.
  • Monitor daily production, adjust work plans as needed, and troubleshooting field challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and project-specific safety standards.
  • Assist with procurement of materials, equipment, and specialty subcontractors.
  • Coordinate mobilization and demobilization of pile driving equipment and support assets.
  • Work with equipment managers to schedule maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
  • Evaluate equipment needs and recommend improvements or upgrades.
