About The Position

We’re looking for a Pile Driver that will be responsible for assisting in the installation of deep foundation elements, including driving structural piles to specified depths and tolerances. This role involves assisting with and maintaining pile driving equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and supporting other team members in achieving project objectives efficiently and accurately. The applicant should also be experienced in erecting, disassemble, and working with pile driving equipment such as leads, hammers, powerpacks, templates and work trestles.

Requirements

  • Experience in erecting, disassemble, and working with pile driving equipment such as leads, hammers, powerpacks, templates and work trestles.
  • Ability to follow all OSHA and company safety protocols.
  • Ability to wear appropriate PPE (hard hat, gloves, eye protection, etc.).
  • Ability to maintain high situational awareness to prevent unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Ability to identify hazardous conditions or behaviors and report them immediately.
  • Ability to contribute to a positive safety culture and uphold RNGD’s Safety Always core value.
  • Ability to participate in daily safety briefings and hazard assessments.
  • Ability to assist with cleanup and housekeeping on site.
  • Ability to support other crew members as needed for efficiency.
  • Ability to perform minor repairs or adjustments to equipment.
  • Ability to communicate through standard crane hand signals for safe operations.
  • Ability to inspect and maintain rigging equipment and materials.
  • Ability to maintain and inspect tools and machinery for safe operation.
  • Ability to assist and coordinate with Crane Operator in safe rigging and Heavy Lift protocols.
  • Ability to guide piles during driving to maintain alignment and plumbness.
  • Ability to monitor hammer strikes and report any irregularities.
  • Ability to report any deviations or obstructions encountered.
  • Ability to support testing procedures (e.g., PDA or static load tests).
  • Ability to assist in the erection and dismantle of lattice boom cranes.
  • Ability to prepare, align, plumb, set, and test piling.
  • Ability to erect, disassemble, and work with and around pile equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience as a Pile Driver Helper
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • Must be able obtain and hold basic rigging certification or willing to test.
  • Previous rigging and lifting training.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and PPE requirements.
  • Assist in the training of less experienced Crew members.
