About The Position

Pile Drivers - Heavy Civil/Highway Construction Trumbull Corporation is hiring skilled Pile Drivers for the Long Bridge South project in Arlington, VA, a high-profile Design-Build rail infrastructure project over the Potomac River connecting Arlington and Washington, D.C. that offers a unique and challenging career-building opportunity. Pile Drivers build and maintain piling and caissons, specializing in foundations for dams, bridges, roadway structures, and other building structures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; completion of apprenticeship program or related experience/training
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide in units of measure)
  • Ability to read and follow simple instructions, correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a construction crew
  • Common sense and ability to follow written/oral instructions
  • Knowledge of and adherence to company safety policy

Responsibilities

  • Operate pile driving heads/power hammers and rigs (skid, barge, crawler tread, or locomotive crane-mounted) to drive pilings for retaining walls, bulkheads, and structure foundations
  • Operate cranes, hoists, and other lifting equipment to lower pile driving leads into place
  • Oil and service pile driving rigs and parts
  • Move construction materials, earth, and heavy material; clear land for pile driving operations
  • Build structures per sketches, blueprints, or oral instructions; judge distance and positioning for piling leads accurately
  • Erect, climb, and work on equipment above or below ground level, from a few feet up to 100 feet
  • Comply with all safety codes and programs
  • Dig trenches and maneuver heavy construction materials
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or project needs
