About The Position

This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions and requires the ability to read and understand blueprints. The Pile Driver Helper will select appropriate materials, plan installations to avoid obstructions, and prepare layouts using various measuring tools. Responsibilities include shaping materials, assembling components, and ensuring structural trueness. The position also involves erecting frameworks, forms, scaffolding, and assisting with concrete pouring. Additionally, the role includes loading, transporting, and unloading materials, tools, and equipment, as well as assisting in positioning and securing materials. A key aspect of the job is signaling a crane with knowledge of rigging. The helper will also be responsible for cleaning and performing minor maintenance on tools and equipment, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and restocking supplies. Safely traversing uneven terrain with materials and tools is essential.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months industrial construction experience.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, and sketches.
  • Skilled in signaling a crane with an applied knowledge of rigging.
  • Ability to safely traverse uneven terrain with tools and building materials.

Responsibilities

  • Works outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Reads and understands blueprints, drawings, and sketches.
  • Selects proper size and type of building materials according to project specifications and dimensions.
  • Plans the installation to avoid obstructions and interference with other workers.
  • Prepares the layout using rule, framing square, plumb bob, and chalk line.
  • Marks cutting and assembly lines on materials.
  • Shapes materials to prescribed measurements using various tools.
  • Assembles, cuts, and shapes materials by fastening them together.
  • Verifies the trueness of a structure using a plumb bob and carpenters level.
  • Erects framework for structures.
  • Signals a crane with applied knowledge of rigging.
  • Constructs forms and chutes for pouring concrete.
  • Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
  • Loads, transports, unloads materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Assists in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and work pieces during installation.
  • Cleans and performs minor maintenance activities on tools, rigging, and equipment.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Restocks supplies and materials as necessary.
  • Safely traverses uneven terrain with tools and building materials.
