About The Position

This position plans, develops, and implements both private and semi-private group Pilates training sessions on specialized Pilates reformer equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching group fitness classes.
  • Must hold current CPR/AED certification.
  • Must hold a current accredited Pilates training certification (e.g., Balanced Body, BASI Pilates, Peak Pilates, Polestar Pilates, etc.).
  • Current Accredited Personal or Group Fitness Certification.
  • Ability to work a variable schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must possess great communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform and demonstrate physical exercises, including high-impact movements, lifting, stretching, and bending.
  • Capacity to stand and lead classes for extended periods, often involving repetitive motions and continuous movement.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50-100, such as weights, mats, and fitness accessories.
  • Strong vocal ability to instruct classes in a clear, energetic voice in a potentially noisy environment.
  • Physical stamina and cardiovascular fitness to lead multiple back-to-back classes if required.
  • Ability to observe and assist participants with proper form, sometimes requiring close physical proximity.
  • Normal vision and hearing ranges required.
  • All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification with a recognized Personal Training organization (e.g., ACE, NASM, AFAA) is encouraged.
  • Accredited Group Fitness Certification (ACE, AFAA, ISSA, NASM, and NETA) is encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct participants on proper body mechanics and form during exercises to ensure safety.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of physiology and anatomy to ensure safe and effective workouts.
  • Design and implement personalized workout programs tailored to the needs of individual clients, including modifications and enhancements.
  • Inspects all apparatus and areas for cleanliness and safety.
  • Ensure that routines are engaging, adaptable, and maintain high safety standards.
  • Arrange, organize, and sanitize all equipment before and after each class.
  • Return equipment to designated storage areas to keep the studio in order.
  • Provide clear instructions, offer exercise modifications, and foster a supportive, inclusive class atmosphere.
  • Update management on any scheduling conflicts or need for substitutions at the earliest opportunity.
  • Maintain transparency and reliability with class times.
  • Follow facility guidelines with a professional, clean appearance.
  • Dress in appropriate fitness attire and display any required name tags or badges.
