About The Position
The Group Ex Instructor (Les Mills) will be responsible for instructing group training classes in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that welcomes people of all skill and fitness levels. This role is for weekday evenings at the Boll Family YMCA.
Requirements
- Area of Expertise certification
- CPR certification
- First Aid certification
- AED certification
- National certification (ACSM, ACE, AFAA, ISSA, NASM, NESTA, NETA, NPTI, NSCA) in personal training
- Proven knowledge of exercise science, movement coaching, and movement competency
- Completion of YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certification within 60 days of hire
Nice To Haves
- 1 year of experience teaching group wellness classes is preferred
Responsibilities
- Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes, as directed, to accomplish YMCA mission and goals
- Asks and answers questions within their scope of knowledge from participants and members
- Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members
- Observes and adjusts approach to support all participants’ capabilities, physical conditions, health, and culture
- Performs other assigned duties as directed by Supervisor
