About The Position

The PICO Operator is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy and production order integrity throughout the manufacturing process. This role serves as the bridge between Production, Warehouse, Inventory Control, Accounting and Quality by managing inventory transactions, validating lot codes, reviewing variances, and ensuring accurate consumption and output reporting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and use a computer and phone.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Primarily office-based; may visit production areas where conditions include noise, humidity, cold temperatures, moving mechanical parts, and slippery floors (slip-resistant shoes required).

Nice To Haves

  • associate degree preferred
  • Experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or production reporting preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems; Business Central experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Control inventory consumption by reviewing raw materials, packaging, and ingredients used in production.
  • Account for and process returned materials that were not consumed during production.
  • Release production orders in the ERP system.
  • Close completed production orders and ensure all transactions are accurate.
  • Verify inventory accuracy and investigate discrepancies.
  • Review and validate production variances.
  • Maintain direct communication with Production, Warehouse, Inventory Control, Accounting and Quality teams.
  • Identify, communicate, and escalate inventory or transaction errors to PICO Manager+.
  • Validate lot codes, batch information, and pallet quantities for accuracy and traceability.
  • Verify finished goods outputs against production records.
  • Perform pallet racking, labeling, and shrink-wrapping as needed.
  • Ensure accurate inventory transactions to support food safety, traceability, and audit requirements.
  • Support cycle counts and inventory reconciliation efforts.
  • Maintain compliance with GMP, HACCP, SQF, and company food safety standards.
