About The Position

Fastenal is hiring an entry-level, full-time Picking employee at its distribution center in Indianapolis, Indiana. The role supports movement of products from the distribution center to company-owned branches. Employees pick requested quantities for branch orders, pack the products, print routing labels, and move products to the next department by hand or with a pallet jack or forklift. The position may offer a flexible schedule after onboarding and training and after performance goals are met.

Requirements

Proficient written and oral communication skills.
Highly motivated, self-directed, and customer-service oriented.
Strong math aptitude, attention to detail, and sense of urgency.
Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule and extra time as needed.
Demonstrate the company’s core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork.
Ability to lift, slide, carry, and lower packages typically weighing 25–50 pounds and sometimes up to 100 pounds.
Pass the required drug screen in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Guam.
