About The Position

The Picker is responsible for accurately selecting and staging material orders, updating records in spreadsheets, and handling the loading, unloading, and movement of products and materials to designated warehouse and plant locations. The Picker also verifies incoming orders and ensures all inventory transactions are properly completed and documented.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment including forklift truck.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
  • Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Must have the physical ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, and move products and materials by hand or equipment.
  • Sort and package fabricated parts onto a cart according to the subassembly list and deliver to point of use in the plant (manually or with equipment).
  • Verify that subassembly counts are accurate and meet a visual quality inspection, and report any discrepancies to the fabrication area.
  • May perform other activities such as assisting in taking inventory and weighing/checking materials.
  • Pick orders and prepare for shipping, including stacking, wrapping, and crating products.
  • Select materials from the warehouse for outbound orders, inspect for defects and ensure only high quality items are shipped.
  • Put away received materials to proper storage locations.
  • Confirm inventory transactions are complete.
  • Participate in clean-up of yard and facility.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations and Code.
  • Other duties as assigned.
