About The Position

The Picker - Truss Saw is responsible for selecting lumber grades and lengths based on 'pick' lists provided by truss technicians. This role ensures a continuous supply of lumber for the saws. Duties include reading pick lists, conveying materials, sorting items, filling requisitions, and assembling customer orders for distribution or shipping.

Requirements

• Up to one month of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Selects lumber grades and lengths in accordance with ‘pick’ lists provided by truss technicians to ensure saws are able to continually cut lumber
• Reads pick list to determine items to be moved or gathered
• Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to saw or to other designated areas
• Sorts and places materials into designated area according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code
• Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials and distributes items to production workers or assembly line
• Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department
