About The Position

This role involves receiving orders, picking products from bins, verifying items, and packing them for shipment. The Picker/Packer will ensure orders are packed correctly and efficiently, reporting any errors. They will also be responsible for maintaining a clean workspace and participating in special projects. Additionally, this position may require operating company vehicles to deliver packages across Oʻahu. The role also emphasizes meeting company standards for quality and quantity of work, and adhering to all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Good reading, writing, math, and computer skills.
  • Good communication (written/verbal) skills.
  • Detail oriented and accountable for making accurate decisions under set guidelines.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work under stress, and handle multiple assignments.
  • Ability to read fine print and differentiate products with similar characteristics (size, color, vendor code).
  • Knowledge of basic warehousing operations preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, or comparable work experience.
  • Non-CDL Class 3 in good standing.
  • Lifting: Individual products: 0-20 lbs – Frequent
  • Lifting and carrying: Boxes – 0-25 lb’s - Occasional
  • Lifting and carrying: Boxes – 25 – 50 lb’s – Infrequent
  • Pushing/pulling: Up to 25lbs of force is needed to move carts on a continuous basis when working with a cart.
  • Gripping with one or both hands: Continuously
  • Twist/bending: Frequently
  • Reaching overhead: Occasionally
  • Climbing ladders/stepstools: Occasionally
  • Walk/stand on concrete: Continuously
  • Utilizes hand tools such as computer, box cutter, scanner and tape gun

Responsibilities

  • Receive coversheet and assigned cart for each series of orders.
  • Move the cart through product bin aisles and pick corresponding products.
  • Place the correct product and quantity into the cart, bagging or banding small items for easier identification.
  • Verify product during the picking and potentially during the packing process.
  • Maintain daily individual production records, noting time spent on tasks.
  • Return cart to staging area after completing picking.
  • Pack customer orders by verifying products selected and checking off on packing lists.
  • Select appropriately sized boxes or envelopes for shipment to prevent damage.
  • Pack all orders neatly and correctly, ensuring quality, including appropriate packing for glass, small items, and liquids.
  • Follow proper packing procedures.
  • Report any errors in product selection or quality to the appropriate team member or area, and correct orders as necessary before shipment.
  • Send orders to the packing station for material addition and sealing, then place packed orders in the appropriate staging area for shipment.
  • Process special orders using the special order process.
  • Dispose of empty boxes and packaging appropriately to maintain safe and clean working conditions.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.
  • Operate company vehicles to safely and efficiently deliver packages to customers across Oʻahu.
  • Meet company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed.
  • Perform all work-related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior.
