About The Position

This role involves receiving a coversheet and assigned cart for order series, logging into the voice system for directed picking, and moving through product aisles to pick and place correct products and quantities into the cart. Small items may be bagged or banded. The picker verifies products during picking and potentially packing. Daily production records may be maintained. After completing the cart, it's returned to the staging area. Packing involves verifying products against packing lists, selecting appropriate boxes/envelopes to prevent damage, and packing orders neatly and correctly, ensuring items like glass, liquids, and standing items are handled properly. Errors are reported and corrected. Packed orders are sent via conveyor for sealing and then to the shipping location. Special orders follow a specific process. Empty boxes and packaging are disposed of properly to maintain a safe and clean environment. Participation in special projects and other duties as required is expected. All positions must meet company standards for quantity and quality, comply with policies and procedures, and adhere to workplace behavior standards.

Requirements

  • Good reading, writing, math, and computer skills.

  • Ability to follow instructions, work under stress, and handle multiple assignments.
  • Ability to read fine print and differentiate products with similar characteristics (size, color, vendor code).
  • Lifting: Individual products: 0-10 lbs – Frequent
  • Lifting: Individual products: 11-20 lbs – Occasional
  • Lifting and carrying: Boxes – 0-25 lb’s - Occasional
  • Lifting and carrying: Boxes – 25 – 50 lb’s – Infrequent
  • Pushing/pulling: Up to 25lbs of force is needed to move carts on a continuous basis when working with a cart.
  • Gripping with one or both hands: Continuously
  • Twist/bending: Frequently
  • Reaching overhead: Occasionally
  • Climbing ladders/stepstools: Occasionally
  • Walk/stand on concrete: Continuously
  • Utilizes hand tools such as computer, box cutter, scanner and tape gun

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of basic warehousing operations preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, or comparable work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Receive coversheet and assigned cart for each series of orders.
  • Log onto the voice system to begin the voice-directed picking process.
  • Move cart through product bin aisles and pick corresponding products.
  • Place correct product and quantity into the cart.
  • Place small items into bags or band together.
  • Verify product during the picking process and potentially during packing.
  • Maintain daily individual production records, if required.
  • Return cart to staging area after completion.
  • Pack customer orders by verifying products and checking off on packing lists.
  • Select appropriately sized boxes or envelopes for shipment.
  • Pack all orders neatly and correctly to ensure quality.
  • Pack glass items appropriately in bubble wrap, place small items in a bag, and place all liquids in a bag, packing standing upright.
  • Follow proper packing procedures.
  • Report any error in product selection or quality to the appropriate team member or area and/or correct the order as necessary before shipment.
  • Send packed orders via conveyor system to the appropriate location for packing material and sealing.
  • Place packed customer orders on the conveyor system to take to the appropriate location for shipment.
  • Process special orders using the special order process.
  • Dispose of empty boxes and packaging appropriately to maintain safe and clean working conditions.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.
  • Meet company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis.
  • Perform all work-related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures including WorldWide Business Standards.
  • Adhere to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments.
